To increase the awareness of the importance of organ, tissue,
blood and bone marrow donation throughout the state in April, national
Donate Life Month, the Wisconsin Coalition on Donation honored
Wisconsin's donor families and underscored the need for organ and
tissue donors. The event featured several guest speakers and
encouraged people to consider organ, tissue and eye donation by
signing the back of their driver's license and discussing donation
with their families. Following the speakers' presentations, attendees
stood side-by-side along the Milwaukee River and dropped flowers in
the river - a visual that represents the life donation brings.
