Governor's Ceremony, Aug. 9, 2002. Gov. Scott McCallum hosted more than 200 donor family members at a donor memorial service honoring organ donors and their families Aug. 9, 2002. Rear Admiral Kenneth P. Moritsugu, MD, MPH, U.S. deputy surgeon general, delivered the keynote address on the lawn of the governor's mansion to honor the families' loved ones. Dr. Moritsugu, a donor husband and father himself, presented every donor family with a rose, a medal and certificate, honoring each individual donor.
