Governor's Ceremony, Aug. 22, 2003
Gov. James Doyle hosted more than 200 donor family members at a donor memorial service honoring organ donors and their families Aug. 22, 2003. Miss Wisconsin 2003 Tina Sauerhammer, MD, delivered the keynote address on the lawn of the governor's mansion to honor the families' loved ones. Dr. Sauerhammer, whose father died while awaiting a kidney transplant, presented every donor family with a rose, a medal and certificate, honoring each individual donor.
